SEO for med spas: how to get more clients from Google

By the RankSharp team · 2 November 2026 · 8 min read

People rarely choose a med spa at random. They search "Botox near me", "laser hair removal [city]" or "best med spa [town]", look at the map, read reviews, check photos and then book with the clinic that looks most trustworthy. If your med spa is not in those results, or looks thin when people find it, those bookings go to a competitor down the road. Med spa SEO is the work of showing up for those searches and earning the trust that turns a search into a booking.

How clients search for med spa treatments

Most searches are for a treatment and a place, not a clinic name:

  • "Botox near me", "lip filler [city]", "Botox cost"
  • "laser hair removal near me", "microneedling [town]"
  • "HydraFacial near me", "chemical peel [city]"
  • "med spa near me", "medical spa open Saturday"

For these, Google usually shows ads, then a map with a few clinics, then normal website results. The map brings people who are ready to book. Your website wins the treatment and cost searches, where people are still comparing.

Step 1: get your Google Business Profile right

  • Choose the most specific primary category for your main service from the list Google shows you, such as Medical spa where it is available. Add secondary categories only for services you really offer, such as laser hair removal or skin care.
  • Use your real clinic name. "Glow Aesthetics" is fine. "Glow Aesthetics Botox Fillers Dallas" breaks Google's guidelines and can get the profile suspended.
  • List every treatment as a service, with a short, plain description of what it is and who it suits.
  • Add a booking link so people can book without calling.
  • Upload real photos of your entrance, reception, treatment rooms and team. People want to see a clean, professional clinic before they trust you with their face.
  • Keep hours exact, including late evenings and weekends if you offer them.

If you have several practitioners, Google has specific rules for individual practitioner profiles. Read them before creating extra listings. Our Google Business Profile checklist covers every setting.

Step 2: give each treatment its own page

A single "Services" page that lists everything in a paragraph makes it hard for Google to match you to specific searches. Give each main treatment a page of its own:

  • Injectables, such as wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers
  • Laser hair removal
  • Skin treatments, such as microneedling, chemical peels and facials
  • Body treatments, if you offer them
  • Consultations: what happens at the first visit
  • Pricing or "from" prices, and payment options

Each page should answer the questions clients really ask: what the treatment involves, who it suits and who it does not, how long it takes, how many sessions are usual, what recovery looks like, and how to book. Write in plain words. Put a clear booking button and a tap to call number near the top.

Pricing is worth including. Many people search for what a treatment costs before they search for a clinic. Even a starting price, or a clear explanation of what changes the price, helps you show up and saves time on the phone.

Step 3: build trust on every page

Med spa treatments are medical, and both Google and clients look for signs that you are qualified and safe:

  • Practitioner bios with real names, photos, qualifications and licences.
  • Medical oversight explained, such as who your medical director is, where that applies in your state.
  • Before and after photos of your own clients, used only with written consent and within the rules that apply to you. Never use stock or borrowed images as results.
  • Honest expectations. Avoid promises such as "guaranteed results" or "no side effects". They can break advertising rules and they put careful clients off.
  • Your address, phone and hours on every page, matching your Google profile exactly.

Step 4: reviews, handled carefully

  • Ask every happy client, for example with a text after the appointment that includes your direct review link.
  • Never offer discounts or free treatments for reviews. This breaks Google's rules.
  • Reply without health details. Do not confirm that someone is a client or mention their treatment in a public reply, even if they did. Thank them, and invite anyone with a concern to contact the clinic directly. If you are unsure what applies to you, check with your compliance advisor.

Step 5: listings and Instagram

Clients often check several places before they book. Keep your name, address, phone and website the same on:

  • Apple Maps through Apple Business Connect, Bing Places and Yelp
  • Treatment review sites and directories used in the aesthetics industry
  • Your booking platform's public profile
  • Facebook and Instagram

Instagram matters a lot for med spas, because people want to see real results and the people doing the work. Regular posts of your team, your clinic and consented results support everything above. Meta and Google both have extra rules for ads about health and cosmetic treatments, so read their policies before you promote before and after images in ads.

What to track

  • Calls, bookings and website clicks from your Google Business Profile
  • Online bookings by treatment
  • Which treatment pages get visits and lead to bookings
  • How new clients say they found you (add the question to your intake form)

Profile fixes can help within weeks. Competitive treatments in a big city usually take months of steady work. Our guide on how long SEO takes explains why.

Common med spa SEO mistakes

  • One services page instead of a page per treatment
  • No prices or price guidance anywhere on the site
  • Stock photos of models instead of the real clinic and team
  • Keywords stuffed into the Google Business Profile name
  • Review replies that mention a client's treatment
  • Booking links that are broken or hidden at the bottom of the page
